Maval Industries has been remanufacturing steering products for over 30 years.
Remanufacturing Process:
- Housings, shafts and critical components are thoroughly cleaned using the latest technology to greatly reduce the potential for contamination, and inspected thoroughly to detect any cracks or leaks
- Shafts and housings are polished, bearings and snap rings are replaced to restore rack performance and eliminate leaks
- Electronic solenoids are tested to verify proper performance
- All seals, PTFE and O-rings are replaced with new, OE-equivalent components to prevent leaks, ensure longevity and reliability
- A protective paint coating is applied, bellows and fasteners are high-quality components to protect against corrosion, rust and optimize the longevity of the unit
- Tested using state-of-the-art test equipment to simulate actual operational conditions, inspecting for leaks, noises, and overall functionality to ensure the unit meets or exceeds OE specifications
- 100 percent centered after testing to reduce installation time
Installation Tips
- Replace Power Steering Pressure and Return Hoses when replacing the rack & pinion. Steering hoses can degrade internally and cause contamination in the power steering system, which can damage the new rack & pinion
- Completely flush the system with an OE approved Power Steering Fluid prior to installation (the correct type of fluid is noted on the reservoir cap or in your owner's manual). Flushing the system is critical to prevent system contamination and failure
- Consider installing a Power Steering Filter on the Power Steering Return Hose to prevent system contamination and extend the life of the power steering components
- Bleed the system to prevent noise and extend the life of the steering components
